How can I invite others to view or collaborate on my event?

Inviting others (clients, venues, vendors, planners, or anyone else) to view your event, edit floorplans & designs, or guest lists is easy!

From the Events Dashboard, you simply click on the SHARE button next to any event.

Or, you can click the "Share Event" button which lives at the top right of all pages within an event.

To Share Directly From Merri:

  1. After clicking Share, enter the email address of the person you wish to add to this event & choose their Type.
  2. Next, you will choose their Permission Level.  We currently offer four options. You can adjust their permissions at a later date if needed.

    • Editor: Full Edit Access, can edit all aspects of this event

    • Guest Manager: Can only edit the guest list and seating charts
    • Order Manager: Can view and edit rental quote details
    • Read Only: Send the Client Dashboard to your client, requiring them to log into Merri to view it (scroll down for more details on sharing the client dashboard, no log in required)

  3. Last - hit send! The collaborator will receive an invite from Merri to access the event you have now invited them to, easy peasy!

⭐After someone has been invited, you can always see who is an existing collaborator on your event & edit their permission settings at any time. See below.

The email the collaborator receives will contain a link for them to sign up for a Merri account. They will need to have a Merri account in order to edit the event, edit the guest list or view the Client Dashboard (when sharing directly from Merri).

 

Share the Client Dashboard, Read-Only (no Merri account required):

If you want to share the Client Dashboard with someone but they do not want to create a Merri account, you can simply activate the public client dashboard link at the bottom of the Share window, click copy & paste, and email it to them externally.

We recommend having your recipient bookmark this link, as it is live & won't expire until after the event concludes. Each time you make an edit, anyone with access to the link will see the most up to date version reflected right away!

⚠️Please note: This option will make the Client Dashboard a public webpage. This means that anyone with the link will be able to access the page since a Merri account is not required.

*If you work with a specific planner, venue or vendor throughout the year that might need access to more than one event, we suggest they sign up for a Trial Account or sign up for a Merri account themselves to get the full suite of tools to use throughout the year!
